SUN THREE STARS:
1. Rick Nash, Blue Jackets -- Had a solid game and his hustle to a loose puck led to the tying goal.
2. Jamie McLennan, Flames -- The guy's got the toughest job in hockey but came through with a solid game.
3. Fredrik Norrena, Blue Jackets -- A couple of big saves in the third gave his team the opportunity to claw back.
Dan Fritsche centred the top line between Rick Nash and David Vyborny and set them up for success with a huge edge in the faceoff circle.
WHY FLAMES LOST:
The Blue Jackets' top six forwards were better than the Flames' top six.
Jamie McLennan did his best Miikka Kiprusoff impression late in the second period to stone Rick Nash. Anticipating a one-timer, McLennan slid across in time to keep Nash's quick deflection from finding twine.
Dion Phaneuf became public enemy No. 1 after he smashed Rick Nash into the boards with a hard shoulder.
Is there any way to pack the Saddledome into the Flames' suitcases for road trips?
WHAT IT MEANS:
The Flames' disastrous road record falls to 7-13-6.
Kristian Huselius extended his league-best point streak to a whopping 14 games, tops in the league this season.
