The goalie of the future is in the fold.

Leland Irving, Calgary's 2006 first-round draft choice, signed a three-year entry-level NHL contract with the team yesterday.

The 18-year-old, playing for the Everett Silvertips, currently leads all WHL goaltenders with a 1.57 goals-against average, and a .937 save percentage.

Irving was the backup with Canada's gold medal- winning world junior team earlier this month.
