SHARKS 4 FLAMES 1

SUN THREE STARS

1. Milan Michalek, Sharks --The go-ahead goal and several other close chances.

2. Marcel Goc, Sharks -- Put his team on the board with a great shot and was physical.

3. Tony Amonte, Flames -- Was the most visible Flame, creating plenty with his speed.

UNSUNG HERO

Christian Ehrhoff of the Sharks logged a big amount of ice time, sent a few shots on goal and was blocking shots..

WHY THE FLAMES LOST

Because they couldn't match the Sharks line-for-line after pulling ahead.

HUGE HIT

Flames defenceman Dion Phaneuf played a loose puck in the neutral zone and then readied for the impact with the hard-charging Marcel Goc. Both went crashing to the ice from the collision.

BURNING QUESTION

After breaking a six-game regular-season losing streak at the Shark Tank last time out, you have to wonder how long this new one will go?

WHAT IT MEANS

With Colorado and Minnesota winning, the Flames fall to ninth in the conference standings -- one point behind the Edmonton Oilers, Wild and Avalanche -- although Calgary holds two games in hand on all three.

SCRATCHES
