Rhett's back to practice

Stepping off the ice after his first practice with the Calgary Flames since suffering a pre-season knee injury, Rhett Warrener wasn't concerned about the healing joint.

"I can't feel anything except my lungs right now," said the puffing defenceman, who put in extra work after his teammates had left the Saddledome surface.

Warrener, who suffered the injury Sept. 19, finally didn't have to just "public skate" yesterday, given the green light for a non-contact practice.

He assessed his progress as right on track, meaning a return to game action is still a week or more away.

"It was good. As good as can be expected."

The Flames host the Edmonton Oilers tonight.
