How the devil are ya?

Good!

It's a Saturday night and you aren't playing, whatcha gonna do?

In the season I'd probably be going to the movies or something. Get away from hockey a little bit.

Pick five words to describe yourself.

Shy. Reserved. Polite.

What were you like at school?

I was quiet. Very shy. Stayed away from trouble. I was a good student.

If I'm buying, what are you drinking?

It depends on the day, I guess.

Who's the last person you punched and why?

Probably the little brother. Fighting with each other in the living room.

What's your most treasured material possession?

A little Stanley Cup that they give you when you win the Stanley Cup. I think that's probably what's most precious to me at this point. They give you a little one with all the names of everybody.

What's the most ridiculous thing you've ever bought?

I don't know. DVDs of movies that I've seen probably 15 times.

What's the best advice you've ever received?

From my dad. Either you do something or you don't. If you do it, work hard at it and have fun. I think that's advice I still use today.

What's the first car you owned?

The first car my parents gave me was a little Dodge Colt that I had when I played in Halifax. (Laughs) It was a nice car.

Could you make any repairs on it?

No. Not at all.

How about cooking, do you have a culinary specialty?

Spaghetti sauce, I like to make spaghetti sauce. I don't know if it's a specialty -- I don't know if it's any good but ...

Do you have a special cellphone ringtone?

No.

Who's the most famous person in your cellphone?

It's gotta be a hockey player. I'm going to say Patrick Roy.

Are you easily embarrassed?

Sometimes, depends on the subject.

What subject is most embarrassing?

(Laughs) No, I won't say that.

What's your favourite unhealthy food?

Chips. All-dressed.

What's the best concert you've seen?

I'll tell you who I did not see that I'd like to see -- I think would be an awesome concert -- is U2. They've been to Denver like three, four times the last three or four years and I never got a chance to go. I'd like to see that or Madonna.

What trait do you admire in other people?

Respect. If they respect each other and respect themselves.

What was the best year of your life?

Hopefully it'll be this year but we'll see.

You have a few hours to kill: Book or video game?

Read a book. I'm not a big video game guy.

That surprises me. Most hockey guys I've asked have taken the other route.

Well, if there's a bunch of us playing video games, I'd like that. But by myself I wouldn't hook up the video game, I don't think.

What's your greatest fear?

Cougars around here, right? Grizzlies.

What's the ugliest thing in your wardrobe?

Maybe some bad shoes. Different colour shoes.

What TV series do you want on DVD?

24 and Lost.

What's the funniest thing you've seen during a game?

There used to be dancers in the stands in Denver that used to dance every second intermission but the funniest thing I've seen would have been the tongue getting pulled out of the mascot here.

If you could be any other professional athlete, who would you be?

I think Tiger Woods would not be a bad choice. If I had to pick a sport where I could play and be a professional, golf would be it.
