HOW THE DEVIL ARE YA?

I'm fair to middlin', if not bordering on outstanding.

IT'S SATURDAY NIGHT AND YOU'RE NOT COVERING A GAME. WHATCHA GONNA DO?

Probably watching Battlestar Galactica and then hanging out with my kid. Then watching a movie. Not straying too far from the front porch.

BATTLESTAR GALACTICA?

It's a great show. I don't watch much TV at all. As a matter of fact, outside of The Daily Show with Jon Stewart, that might be my only indulgence on television that isn't hockey. I just think it's a fabulous show.

WHAT WERE YOU LIKE AT SCHOOL?

I like to think of myself as one of the more athletic nerds. Quiet, kept to myself, had my small, tight group of friends. But I was really insignificant.

WHAT'S YOUR MOST TREASURED MATERIAL POSSESSION?

My wife and daughter don't count, do they? Technically they're not material possessions. Actually, my dad's watch.

WHAT'S YOUR POISON?

Diet Coke. Pardon me, Diet Cherry Coke. You can only get it in the States. Whenever I go across the border, I'm always bringing cases of it back.

WHO'S THE LAST PERSON YOU PUNCHED AND WHY?

It would have been a hockey fight.

AS A GOALIE?

No, I punched a goalie. Every once in a while, I do go out and skate as a large lumbering forward. I'm the old adage: 'Instant a--hole, just add skates.' Yeah, I punched a goalie. It's not good for the union but he was p---ing me off.

WHAT'S YOUR MOST UNPLEASANT CHARACTERISTIC?

I don't play well with others.

WHAT'S THE MOST RIDICULOUS THING YOU'VE EVER BOUGHT?

When I was 12 years old, we went to Disneyland. I went to Frontier Land and bought one of those long wooden rifles, the flint rifles, toy rifles. I remember that it took forever for us to get it through customs and when I got it home, I just left it. Put it in the closet and never played with it again.

WHAT'S THE BEST ADVICE YOU'VE RECEIVED?

Just be honest to yourself and work as hard as you can and good things will come to you.

WHAT'S THE FIRST CAR YOU OWNED?

I owned a 1977 Dodge Custom 100 half-ton pickup. When I bought it, when I was 16 years old, it had a camper on the back. The camper lasted a full two days before my parents thought better of that. I still don't know, to this day, why.

CAN YOU DO ANY CAR REPAIRS?

I can change the tire. I can fill the washer fluid. I installed my satellite radio. I can change the CDs.

WHAT'S YOUR CULINARY SPECIALTY?

I make a chicken/bacon wrap with hot sauce but that's about it.

WHAT'S YOUR CELLPHONE RINGTONE?

Buzz. I leave it on vibrate.

WHO'S THE MOST FAMOUS PERSON IN IT?

If I told you that, I'd be in trouble. I don't know, let's take a look. (Pulls out phone). How about Cassie Campbell?

ARE YOU EASILY EMBARRASSED?

Clearly. Oh yeah, very.

WHAT'S YOUR FAVOURITE UNHEALTHY FOOD?

Probably nachos and cheese.

ANY TOPPINGS?

No, that just gets in the way of the cheese.

WHAT'S THE BEST CONCERT YOU'VE SEEN?

Red Rider Symphony Sessions. 1989, I believe.

IF YOU WEREN'T IN THE WORLD OF BROADCASTING, WHAT WOULD YOU BE DOING?

I'd be a forest ranger. For six years, I was a forest officer (in Fort McMurray). I liked that gig, I just like this one a little bit more.

WHAT TRAIT DO YOU ADMIRE MOST IN PEOPLE?

If they like me. No, I like honest people. No whining. I'm not big into whining.

WHAT HAPPENS AFTER WE DIE?

I believe I'm going to see my dad.

WHAT WAS THE BEST YEAR OF YOUR LIFE?

2004. Being in this city with the run and all the opportunities that came about, just being part of it. I had never experienced anything like that. It was just fabulous. Also, on a personal side, my family really became a part of the Calgary community. It was just good from a personal standpoint and a professional standpoint.

YOU HAVE A FEW HOURS TO KILL. BOOK OR VIDEO GAME?

Play video games. I just finished Call of Duty II for Xbox 360. I really enjoyed that one. I love the Halo series. Anything that's a first-person shooter. For some reason, I'm really into killing stuff.

WHAT'S YOUR GREATEST FEAR?

I guess nuclear war.

WHAT MAKES YOU LAUGH?

(Fellow Fan 960 broadcasters) Mike Rogers ... and Peter Maher, actually. They're the two funniest guys I've ever been around.

WHAT MOVIE MADE YOU TEARY-EYED?

Return of the King. I cried at the end. When what's his name died.

HAVE YOU EVER ORDERED WRESTLING ON PPV?

Yes I have. It would have been a Royal Rumble, I think, in 2001.

WHAT'S THE UGLIEST THING IN YOUR WARDROBE?

The shorter answer is nicest thing in my wardrobe. I have a bright, bright hunter-orange fleece that my family complains is too bright.

COULD YOU BE CONVINCED TO KARAOKE AND, IF SO, WHAT SONG?

Yeah, I could be convinced to sing karaoke. You'd have to be very pretty. Probably Neil Diamond. Something from the Neil Diamond collection, perhaps something from the Barry Manilow collection. Or something from Megadeth.
