COMING IN:

The Flames lost a disappointing 3-2 decision to the Columbus Blue Jackets Friday night with a chance to guarantee themselves a .500 record on the seven-game road trip.

The Stars beat the Chicago Blackhawks 3-2 in a shootout Friday that went eight players deep on each side. Brenden Morrow scored the clincher after Johan Hedberg stopped Kyle Calder. Dallas has won six of its last seven since playing the Flames at the Saddledome March 9.

HEAD-TO-HEAD:

Flames G Miikka Kiprusoff stymied the Stars in their last meeting, a 1-0 shutout -- the only scoreless game for the Stars this season. C Daymond Langkow's lone goal in the first period was enough as Kiprusoff stopped all 39 shots he faced. The Stars have the edge on the year, though, with a pair of one-goal wins Oct. 22 (2-1) and Oct. 13 (3-2 in overtime to spoil the Flames' home opener). The Flames are 2-5-2-1 in their last 10 contests. Calgary holds the all-time edge, with a 35-32-19-1 record since 1980.

WHO'S HOT:

STARS -- Their shootout statistics are as hot as they come. The Stars grabbed their 11th straight shootout victory Friday against the 'Hawks. F Mike Modano has five points in his last four games and 11 in his last six.

NOTABLES:

Chances are those won't all be the same today ... The Flames have not won on back-to-back night's this season. Friday's loss to the Columbus Blue Jackets was the ninth split in 11 tries.
