CALGARY FLAMES @ MINNESOTA WILD

GAME TIME: 6 P.M. TV: PAY-PER-VIEW RADIO: THE FAN 960

COMING IN:

The Flames and Wild clashed Sunday night in the first of two games at the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul. Calgary came away with a 3-2 victory on F Kristian Huselius' late goal, a quick shot through G Manny Fernandez's legs with 5:08 to play in regulation.

The Wild also had a goal called back in the first period, so you can anticipate another tight matchup tonight.

HEAD-TO-HEAD:

With Sunday's win, the Flames ran their streak to five straight wins over the Wild. Calgary lost its season-opener 6-3 in Minnesota Oct. 5. The Flames are 15-6-4-2 all-time against the Wild.

WHO'S HOT:

FLAMES -- The top line was productive Sunday. C Daymond Langkow, RW Jarome Iginla and LW Kristian Huselius each had a goal and an assist.

WILD -- F Marian Gaborik was held to a lone helper in the loss but has 17 goals in his last 23 games for the Wild.

WHO'S NOT:

FLAMES -- D Andrew Ference seems to be missing his usual partner Rhett Warrener. He hasn't looked as confident or comfortable alongside D Bryan Marchment and D Cale Hulse over the past few games.

WILD -- G Manny Fernandez wanted to be an unquestioned No. 1 and got his wish when Dwayne Roloson was traded to Edmonton at the deadline. But Fernandez has just two wins since Roloson's last start, with a 2-2-2 record. In his last 10 starts, Fernandez is 2-5-3.

SPECIAL TEAMS:

POWERPLAY -- Calgary 18.4% (72-391, 10th); Minnesota 17.6% (68-387, 17th).

PENALTY KILLING -- Calgary 83.3% (69-414, 12th); Minnesota 88.4% (42-362, 1st).

INJURIES:

FLAMES -- F Mike Leclerc (wrist) is out indefinitely and won't rejoin the team during the latter half of its current road trip. However, the team hasn't announced the severity of his injury. It's believed to be either a break or tendon ailment. D Rhett Warrener (knee) is also out.

WILD -- C Todd White (leg) broke his left fibula Sunday unintentionally blocking D Kurtis Foster's point shot in front of Miikka Kiprusoff. He won't return this season unless the Wild, currently the 11th seed in the Western Conference, make the second round of the playoffs.

NOTABLES:

Skipping yesterday's optional skate were forwards Darren McCarty, Stephane Yelle and Marcus Nilson. Defencemen Robyn Regehr and Andrew Ference also chose to work out off the ice ... With C Todd White out for the year, Minnesota called up C Erik Westrum from AHL Houston. Westrum, 26, leads the AHL in assists (61) and is second in scoring with 92 points ... The Flames play back to back for the second time in a week, visiting St. Louis Thursday and Columbus Friday.
