COMING IN:

A 1-0 nailbiter over Dallas Thursday ended Calgary's homestand on a positive note. The Flames won three of their last four in the spell split by the Olympic break and posted a 5-2-0 mark in those seven games.

This is Colorado's lone home date in a span with nine of 10 on the road. The Avs split their first four in the stretch, following losses in Dallas and Minnesota with victories over St. Louis (via shootout) and Chicago.

HEAD TO HEAD:

The Flames and Avs have come away victorious twice against each other so far this season. Colorado claimed a 7-3 win the first week of the season and a 7-4 triumph in January. The Flames won a pair of November clashes, 5-3 at home and a 3-2 shootout clash in Denver.

After this home-and-home set, they meet twice more at the 'Dome.

WHO'S HOT:

FLAMES -- In the last five games, G Miikka Kiprusoff has surrendered only six goals and stopped 128 of 134 shots (a .955 save percentage). In his last 16 starts, he's posted a 10-4-2 record and surrendered 26 goals.

AVALANCHE -- LW Andrew Brunette's notched seven points (2-5-7) in his last eight.

FLAMES -- LW Tony Amonte and LW Mike Leclerc have both gone 17 games without a goal.

Thanks to Miikka Kiprusoff's outstanding work, including two shutouts in the last three games, the Flames have moved into top spot in goals-against at 2.31 ... Flames GM/head coach Darryl Sutter will collect his 400th win next time the Flames are victorious ... Wearing No. 24, newest Flame Jamie Lundmark skated on the fifth line in practice, along with Byron Ritchie and the injured Roman Hamrlik. Calgary's lines were Mike Leclerc-Daymond Langkow-Jarome Iginla, Tony Amonte-Stephane Yelle-Darren McCarty, Chris Simon-Matthew Lombardi-Chuck Kobasew and Kristian Huselius-Marcus Nilson-Shean Donovan.
