DALLAS STARS AT CALGARY FLAMES

TONIGHT AT 7 P.M., TV: SPORTSNET, RADIO: FAN 960

COMING IN:

The Flames (35-19-7) had a two-game win streak broken by the feisty Nashville Predators at the Saddledome Tuesday night. Calgary played well but couldn't take advantage of scoring chances in a 3-2 loss.

F Jussi Jokinen kept himself and his Stars (41-18-3) perfect in the shootout this season with a 4-3 win over the Edmonton Oilers Tuesday.

HEAD-TO-HEAD:

These teams met twice in October and the Stars earned points in both. Dallas beat the Flames 2-1 at home Oct. 22 after losing 3-2 in overtime in Calgary Oct. 13 in the Flames' home opener. The Flames have struggled against the Stars over the last couple of seasons, winning just twice -- both in overtime -- in their past seven games.

WHO'S HOT:

* FLAMES -- With an assist on Dion Phaneuf's goal Tuesday, F Jarome Iginla ran his point streak to three games and now has three goals and three helpers in his last six games.

* STARS -- F Jussi Jokinen is an unbelievable 10-for-10 in the showdown. He scored on a penalty shot in Edmonton and added a shootout goal to help clinch the win. He now has three goals and three assists in his last three games.

WHO'S NOT:

* FLAMES -- F Tony Amonte's point drought has reached nine games and he hasn't scored a goal in 16. F Chuck Kobasew is pointless in six.

* STARS -- D Janne Niinimaa has been a healthy scratch for three straight games. F Stu Barnes has no points in his last five.

SPECIAL TEAMS:

POWERPLAY -- Calgary 18.3% (66-360, 11th); Dallas 16.5% (64-387, 22nd).

PENALTY KILLING -- Calgary 83.6% (62-377, 11th); Dallas 82.8% (66-384, 12th).

INJURIES:

* FLAMES -- D Roman Hamrlik (hand) is practising but doubtful. D Rhett Warrener (knee) went for an MRI yesterday and is also doubtful for tonight's game.

* STARS -- D Patrick Traverse (ankle) is out indefinitely.

NOTABLES:

Flames GM/head coach Darryl Sutter is two wins shy of 400 as a an NHL head coach ... Rookie D Dion Phaneuf is third on the team in points (38) and fourth in goals (15).
