VANCOUVER CANUCKS AT CALGARY FLAMES

TOMORROW AT 7 P.M., TV: SPORTSNET, RADIO: FAN 960

SUN THREE STARS:

1. Marc Denis, Blue Jackets -- Stellar night, as 36 saves says it all.

2. Jarome Iginla, Flames -- Best Flames player on the ice had a goal and heaps of opportunity.

3. Miikka Kiprusoff, Flames -- Many of his 19 stops were tough to make.

TURNING POINT:

Back-to-back delay-of-game penalties to Robyn Regehr and Rhett Warrener five seconds apart in the second period allowed the Blue Jackets to tie the game at 1-1.

BIG SAVE:

Miikka Kiprusoff stoned Sergei Fedorov twice in the middle period: Once on a tip from the doorstep after a pass from Nikolai Zherdev and then later on a Blue Jackets five-on-three on a rebound attempt after a Rostislav Klesla bomb from the point.

At the other end, Marc Denis was sharp with a pair of kick saves on Jarome Iginla and Darren McCarty in the second period and another on Iginla in overtime.

HARDEST HIT:

Rostislav Klesla flattened Mark Giordano as the Flames defenceman rushed across the blueline with the puck and his head down, a real no-no. The impact was crushing.

UNSUNG HERO:

Rostislav Klesla set up the tying goal and was a factor at both ends of the ice for the Jackets, who were largely outplayed.

FIGHT CARD:

None.

SCRATCHES:

* CALGARY -- F Steve Reinprecht was a healthy scratch and was later dealt to Phoenix. F Byron Ritchie (knee) is close to making his return. D Roman Hamrlik (hand) and D Bryan Marchment (knee) are out indefinitely.

* COLUMBUS -- D Bryan Berard (back). F Mike Rupp (ankle) is out indefinitely. D Cale Hulse was a healthy scratch.

BURNING QUESTION:

How will the trade of Steve Reinprecht and Philippe Sauve affect a tight-knit Calgary Flames dressing room?

WHAT IT MEANS:

With the point, the Flames take a two-point lead over the idle Vancouver Canucks, who roll into town tomorrow night.

NOTEWORTHY:

Steve Reinprecht and Philippe Sauve were packaged to Phoenix for Mike Leclerc and Brian Boucher before last night's game ... Miikka Kiprusoff claimed the Molson Cup for January, while Dion Phaneuf and Daymond Langkow were the runners-up ... The Flames sported their third jersey last night.
