COLUMBUS BLUE JACKETS AT CALGARY FLAMES, 8 P.M., TV: TSN, RADIO: FAN 960
The Flames lost 3-2 in a shootout in St. Louis Monday night. They went 2-2-1 on their second extended road trip of the month. The Blue Jackets have won eight of their last 11 games, including three straight at home against Nashville, Minnesota and Vancouver. They have lost just six games since Christmas.
This will be their third meeting of the season. The Flames hold a 2-0 edge. Blue Jackets star F Rick Nash came back from a high ankle sprain to play at the Saddledome Nov. 3 but hurt his knee on a Rhett Warrener hip check and missed nearly two more months of action.
FLAMES -- F Chuck Kobasew tallied four goals and an assist on the five-game swing, including his first NHL hat-trick.
BLUE JACKETS -- F David Vyborny potted two goals and five assists in three games last week to earn NHL player of the week honours.
FLAMES -- F Chris Simon and D Jordan Leopold will hope for better luck this month after failing to record a point in January.
BLUE JACKETS -- Neither of the team's goaltenders, Marc Denis and Pascal Leclaire, have stepped up and earned the starter's role. They rotated starts in January and haven't had a lot of personal success despite their team's recent success.

Blue Jackets C Sergei Fedorov has a four-game point streak, with a goal and four helpers in that span ... The Flames' record in January (7-4-2) was their worst in a month since October (4-7-2). For the Jackets, it was the best month of the season (8-4-1).
