Todd Bertuzzi has Jarome Iginla in his corner.

The Calgary Flames captain said his soon-to-be Olympic teammate deserves to be selected for the 2006 Games and his attack on Steve Moore should be put in the past.

"He had a long time off, had a long suspension and acknowledges he made a big mistake. I think everybody knows that," Iginla said yesterday.

"But I think it's time to move on. He's going to help Canada and I look forward to the opportunity to play with him there."

Iginla, known for his kindness off the ice, stayed true to form with his plea for others to find it in their hearts to support Bertuzzi.

"I like the idea that -- he made a mistake, he made a huge mistake -- people are willing to forgive that mistake and wipe the slate clean," Iginla said. "He served his time and those things and got another chance.

"Society believes in that and I think that's good."
