PHILADELPHIA -- He's a little disappointed but Jarome Iginla understands Steve Yzerman's choice to opt out of the Olympics.

"I was really fortunate to get a chance to play with him. He's a great leader, a great person and a great professional. You learn a lot from just being around him," said Iginla, who'll likely be on Canada's team when it's named later this month.

"But if that's the way he feels, whatever his decision is, it's the right one."

Calgary d-man Robyn Regehr respects Yzerman's choice.

"He's got absolutely nothing more to prove to anyone," Regehr said.

"You look at what he's done in his career, I believe he was the youngest ever captain named, and been the longest serving captain, won Cups. He's won everything there is to win."
