One cool welcome

DETROIT -- Upon arriving in the Motor City Wednesday, the Calgary Flames met with new NHLPA executive director Ted Saskin.

The Detroit Red Wings, however, haven't held such a session and, if Chris Chelios has his way, it won't happen.

"He's not welcome here," stated Chelios, who is part of the group of players that want Saskin to step down from his post.

"He should resign, as far as I'm concerned, after what's transpired over the past three months," Chelios said. "I would have never said that three months ago but after being involved as an assistant player rep and seeing what's happened and being aware of what happened with Steve Larmer, I don't think anybody involved in supporting him or the executive committee, (should stay). We need a new leadership, they've proved that over the past three months."
