CHICAGO BLACKHAWKS AT CALGARY FLAMES

TONIGHT AT 7 P.M., TV: SPORTSNET, RADIO: FAN 960

COMING IN:

Riding an eight-game winning streak, the Flames are on their best run since an eight-game spree in the middle of the 1992-93 season. Their last outing was arguably the most complete performance of the season, a 3-1 win over league-leading Detroit.

Chicago is coming off a 3-1 home win over Edmonton and has victories in three of four and four of six outings.

HEAD-TO-HEAD:

Calgary lost the last two meetings with the bottom-feeding Blackhawks of 2003-04. That said, the Flames are 5-1-2 in the last eight encounters overall and 5-2-3 in the last 10 at the Saddledome.

WHO'S HOT:

FLAMES -- The trio of Tony Amonte, Daymond Langkow and Darren McCarty have combined for three goals and four assists in the last two games.

HAWKS -- Mark Bell has three goals and one assist in the last four games. In his last four starts, goalie Nikolai Khabibulin has a 3-1 record with a 1.96 goals against average and a .931 save percentage.

WHO'S NOT:

FLAMES -- Stephane Yelle (20 games) and Shean Donovan (19 games) are both in prolonged goal-scoring droughts.

HAWKS -- Tyler Arnason has no points in the last five games.

SPECIAL TEAMS:

POWERPLAY -- Calgary 15.5% (21-135, 23rd); Chicago 13.3% (16-120, 25th).

PENALTY KILLING -- Calgary 80.3% (23rd); Chicago 80.4% (24th).

INJURIES:

FLAMES -- C Matthew Lombardi (ankle) remains on the shelf.

HAWKS -- LW Eric Daze (back) and RW Tuomo Ruutu (back) are both out.

NOTABLES:

The Blackhawks are starting their annual long November road trip because of the circus taking over the United Center for a couple of weeks. Over the previous three seasons, they posted a dismal 1-14-3-1 record while booted from their building thanks to the lions and the clowns ... This season, they have a 3-7 road record with 10 of the next 12 away from home. All told, Chicago plays 20 of its first 30 games away from home ... When the Flames last won eight straight games, the roster included current Chicago head coach Trent Yawney ... Calgary's home-ice powerplay is fourth in the league with a 89.5% rate, a big reason the club has won eight straight home games.
