HOW ARE YOU DOING?
I'm doing pretty good.
IT'S A SATURDAY NIGHT AND YOU DON'T HAVE A GAME TO PLAY. WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO?
During the season, not much. Relax, hang out and watch some TV.
PICK FIVE WORDS TO DESCRIBE YOURSELF?
I don't know ... organized ... I don't even know where to start there. I'd say serious, hard-working, caring ... I've got to ask one of these guys (nodding to fellow Flames making their way into a hotel), they'll come up with something pretty quickly.
HOW ABOUT STYLISH? THAT'S A NICE SHIRT. (A BRIGHTLY COLOURED PINSTRIPE BUTTON-UP).
No, I can't get away with that. They'd bury me if I said that.
WHAT WERE YOU LIKE AT SCHOOL?
Just tried to stay out of trouble. Get my work done when I could and just make sure you go unnoticed.
IF I'M BUYING, WHAT ARE YOU DRINKING?
Probably Coors Light.
WHO'S THE LAST PERSON YOU PUNCHED AND WHY?
Probably (teammate) Rhett (Warrener). He's always picking on me.
WHAT'S YOUR WORST CHARACTERISTIC?
I could probably come up with 10 of those. (Thoughtful pause). Everyone says I'm too serious.
WHAT'S THE FIRST CAR YOU OWNED?
Pickup truck. Chevy pickup truck.
COULD YOU DO ANY REPAIRS ON IT?
No. My dad told me not to. He said I'd probably just end up wrecking it (Laughs).
ARE YOU EASILY EMBARRASSED?
Yeah, yeah. It doesn't take much to get me embarrassed.
WHAT TV SERIES WOULD YOU GET ON DVD?
24. I love 24. I watched right from Season 1.
FAVOURITE UNHEALTHY FOOD?
Ice cream. Probably Dairy Queen blizzards.
BEST CONCERT YOU'VE EVER SEEN?
I went to a smaller Garth Brooks concert with about 300 people. That was pretty neat. And I'd say U2 at the Fleet Center in Boston was another one.
IF YOU WEREN'T A HOCKEY PLAYER, WHAT WOULD YOU BE DOING?
I'd like to think I'd be a golfer, maybe. I don't know.
DO YOU DO THAT A LOT IN THE OFF-SEASON?
Yeah, I like to play golf. (He has a handicap of three).
DO YOU COLLECT YOUR OWN MEMORABILIA?
Not personal stuff, no. I collect a lot of sports memorabilia, though. I like sports collectors items.
WHAT TRAIT DO YOU ADMIRE MOST IN PEOPLE?
Probably honesty (which he later added to his 'five words to describe yourself' answer).
Yeah, a dog. A Vizsla. It's a Hungarian pointer. Short-haired, like a rusty brown colour.
WHAT WOULD WE ALWAYS FIND IN YOUR FRIDGE?
Not much. Bottled water? You stock it up (with food) and end up going on the road, it all goes bad.
WHAT'S THE BEST YEAR OF YOUR LIFE SO FAR?
That's tough. I had a great year when I was in college, Boston College. The best part about it was at the end of the year, we won everything. It makes that last in your mind. But the last season prior to the lockout, that was a great experience. To go through everything we did throughout that whole year and then that run after Christmas. That was probably the best year. The way everyone rallied around, the city rallied around, it didn't get much better than that.
WHAT MOVIE MADE YOU TEARY EYED? ASSUMING YOU COULD SIT THROUGH IT LONG ENOUGH.
You know what, this is going to contradict everything. I thought Titanic was pretty good. I don't know if I'd say I cried but that's an emotional movie. The three hours or however long that movie is, it went by fast so that's a good sign.
WHAT'S THE FUNNIEST THING YOU'VE SEEN DURING A GAME?
Probably my first year when the fan decided to -- I don't know if it was funny or not but his attempt to get on the ice. And then after that, it was a pretty serious incident.
THE NAKED GUY WHO FELL OVER THE BOARDS?
Yeah, to see someone attempt to get on the ice (like that). At first it seemed like it would be something that would be funny but the outcome wasn't.
