COMING IN:

The Flames will visit all five Pacific Division teams after a four-game homestand. Calgary went 2-1-1 at the Saddledome, including a pair of wins over the Edmonton Oilers, after opening the season with a 1-3 road trip.

The Stars were blasted by Los Angeles 7-2 at home Thursday with each goal tallied by a different Kings player. Stars goaltender Marty Turco was pulled in the first period after allowing three goals on seven shots.

HEAD TO HEAD:

The Stars beat the Flames 3-2 in overtime to spoil Calgary's home opener Oct. 13 after the Western Conference championship banner was raised to the rafters. After trailing 2-0, the Flames managed to tie the game and earn a point before Stars blueliner Philippe Boucher scored with less than a minute remaining in the extra period.

WHO'S HOT:

CALGARY -- F Chuck Kobasew scored both the winning and insurance goals Thursday night in a 3-1 win over the Edmonton Oilers.

DALLAS -- Rookie Jussi Jokinen is on a three-game point streak, scoring a goal and adding three helpers while playing alongside rejuvenated veteran Mike Modano.

- - -

WHO'S NOT:

CALGARY -- F Chris Simon has just one assist in eight games and a minus-3 rating heading into tonight's matchup. More is expected of the gritty forward.

DALLAS -- D John Erskine has struggled to stay out of the penalty box and his stats leave a lot to be desired. He has no points, a minus-6 rating and 24 PIM in seven games.

SPECIAL TEAMS:

CALGARY -- The Flames scored a powerplay marker and did a great job killing penalties against the Oilers Thursday but are stuck at the bottom of the heap in both categories. They are 4-for-50 (8%, 30th in NHL) with the man- advantage and have allowed 14 goals in 50 shorthanded situations for a 72% (30th) success rate.

DALLAS -- The Stars are 7-for-40 (17.5%, 15th) on the powerplay and allowed eight goals in 45 chances (82.2%, 16th).

INJURIES:

CALGARY -- D Robyn Regehr (knee) and C Matthew Lombardi (ankle).

DALLAS -- LW Mathias Tjarnqvist (ankle). Sergei Zubov (back spasms, day to day) missed Thursday night's contest against the Kings.

NOTABLES:

Both Robyn Regehr and Matthew Lombardi joined the team for the Pacific Division tour. Neither, however is expected to suit up barring speedy recoveries ... Stars captain Mike Modano is looking more and more like his old self with a pair of goals and six assists in seven games so far this season.
