Fantasy NHL: The Great Rhettzky strikes again

Rhett Warrener couldn't help but pass on a warning to his captain. "Two more goals tonight," quipped the Flames defenceman. "I'll be breathing down Iggy's neck in no time."

The big blueliner, not exactly known for his offensive prowess or his post-game levity, scored a pair of goals, including the winner, in a 5-1 win over the New York Islanders before 14,409 at the Saddledome last night.

Maybe that's why he took that uncharacteristic, good-humoured jab at Jarome Iginla who, as is his nature, fought back.

"Breathing down my neck? How many goals do I have? How many does Rhettzky have?"

Er ... that'll be six for Warrener and 37 for Iginla.

The biggest joke, however, proved to be the high-priced Islanders, who failed to summon much offensive spark or moxie.

It might have been the easiest win for the Flames all year, which may explain why Islanders GM Mike Milbury talked to his troops immediately after the game.

"I'm not going to characterize the meeting," Milbury said, insisting there was "positive dialogue" during the closed-door powwow.
