BUFFALO -- Buffalo Sabres forward Jason Pominville was cleared to return to play, after missing nine games due to a concussion. On Monday, Sabres flagship radio station WGR-AM reported that Pominville returned to practice and skated with Derek Roy and Jochen Hecht. Buffalo does not play until Wednesday, when it welcomes the Boston Bruins. Pominville left an October 11 game against the Chicago Blackhawks on a stretcher after absorbing a hard hit along the boards by Chicago defenseman Niklas Hjalmarsson. The 27-year-old Quebec native hit his head against the glass and also suffered a cut above his eye on the play, and Hjalmarsson was given a five-minute penalty and a game misconduct for the hit. The Swedish defenseman was later suspended for two games and fined for his actions.
