Sabres bring back Ellis
By Sports Network

Buffalo - The Buffalo Sabres re-signed unrestricted free agent forward Matt Ellis to a one-year contract on Tuesday.

The 6-foot, 212-pound left winger set career-bests with 72 games played in the 2009-10 campaign. He tallied three goals and his 10 assists and 13 points were also career highs.

Ellis has 13 goals and 20 helpers in 187 career NHL games with Buffalo, Los Angeles, and Detroit.

The 29-year-old was originally signed by the Red Wings as an undrafted free agent in 2002.
