In trading for veteran winger Jaromir Jagr, the Boston Bruins got more than just the NHL's all-time European leading scorer and the last of the big names on the market as we count down to the 2013 trade deadline at 3 p.m. Wednesday.

They picked up a man who seems to be an almost mystic inspiration for a younger generation of players who grew up idolizing Jagr, the 41-year-old future Hall of Famer and one of the game's confounding and most spectacular players through the last two decades.

"Great to see him doing well at his age," Bruins centre David Krejci told reporters in Boston and, who, like Jagr, is a Czech. "I had posters of him on my wall growing up. He was definitely my hockey idol."

Jagr's presence, if what happened when he was with the Philadelphia Flyers is any indication, should serve to give a boost to players like Krejci and others who grew up playing video games in which Jagr was a star.

In getting Jagr, you get what he brings and whatever boost he gives to the players around him.
