Claude Julien will get a rare opportunity: To coach in the NHL All-Star Game in his hometown.

League officials confirmed Thursday the Boston Bruins head coach, an Orleans native, will be behind the bench of one of the teams taking part in the all-star game set for Jan. 29th at Scotiabank Place.

As the coach of the defending Stanley Cup champions, Julien along with assistants Doug Houda, Geoff Ward and Doug Jarvis are bestowed with the honour of coaching one of the teams that will be drafted by the as yet unnamed playing captains on Jan. 26 in Ottawa.

The staff on the other bench will be made up of the staff from the points-percentage leading team in the East or West conference at the midway point of the season on Jan. 9th.
