BOSTON - The Boston Bruins provided defenseman Adam McQuaid with a three-year contract extension on Thursday.

The deal will keep the 24-year-old with the defending Stanley Cup champions through the 2014-15 season.

A native of Prince Edward Island, McQuaid posted three goals and 15 points with 96 penalty minutes and a plus-30 rating in 67 regular-season games last year. He added four assists in 23 playoff games, despite suffering a sprained neck in Game 2 of the Eastern Conference semifinals against the Flyers.

In 86 NHL games over the past two seasons, McQuaid has totaled four goals and 16 points with 117 PIM.

Boston also announced the signings of forward Craig Cunningham to an entry- level contract and defenseman Zach McKelvie to a one-year deal.

Cunningham totaled 87 points in 71 games in the Western Hockey League of Canadian juniors, while McKelvie spent four seasons at Army (2005-08) before fulfilling his military obligations.
