TORONTO - The Big Zee will finish his career in Beantown.
League sources confirmed to Sun Media Saturday morning that Boston Bruins defenceman Zdeno Chara has agreed to a seven-year, $45.5 million extension that will allow him to finish his career there.
"It's all but done," said Chara's agent Matt Keator. "We're just waiting for confirmation."
Chara, 33, was signed by the Bruins as unrestricted free agent four years ago from the Senators. At $6.5 million, itís a little less than the $7.5 million heís making this year, but Chara was already set for life.
The deal will be announced this morning in Prague where the Bruins open the season against the Phoenix Coyotes.
