New York Rangers goalie Henrik Lundqvist, Pittsburgh Penguins centre Evgeni Malkin and Tampa Bay Lightning centre Steven Stamkos were named the finalists for the Hart Trophy award, given to the player who is most valuable to his team.

Lundqvist led the Rangers to first place in the Eastern Conference, earning 39 of their 51 wins and posting a 1.97 goals-against average and .930 save percentage, along with eight shutouts.

Malkin was a consistent presence in the Penguins lineup without captain Sidney Crosby, and led the league with 109 points to earn his second Art Ross Trophy. He also reached the 50-goal plateau for the first time in his career.

Stamkos, from Markham, Ont., was a force on the ice, scoring 60 goals to win his second Maurice "Rocket" Richard Trophy. He became the 20th player to score that many goals, and his 97 points were second in the league behind Malkin.
