Thrashers claim Schremp off waivers
By Sports Network

UNIONDALE, Ny. -- The Atlanta Thrashers claimed forward Rob Schremp off waivers from the New York Islanders on Monday.

The 24-year-old, former first round pick posted 10 goals and 22 points in 45 games for the Islanders this season.

He most likely became expendable with the emergence of fellow young forwards John Tavares (team-leading 52 points), Matt Moulson (27 goals) and Michael Grabner (25 goals).

The Syracuse native has recorded 17 goals and 50 points in 96 NHL games with Edmonton and New York since 2006.

Would Patrick Roy make a good coach for the Colorado Avalanche?
  Yes, he's perfect
