ANAHEIM- Battered face. Baby girl.

The Stanley Cup playoffs are only three days old and already it's been an eventful post-season for Anaheim Ducks captain Ryan Getzlaf.

Just over 24 hours after suffering a nasty gash under his mouth after being struck by a slapshot in a Game 1 victory over the Dallas Stars, Getzlaf and his wife Paige welcomed a baby girl, Willa, in the wee hours of Friday morning.

Getzlaf, who now has two sons and a daughter, skipped Friday's morning skate but will be in the Ducks lineup for Game 2 Tuesday night (10 p.m. ET) at the Honda Center.

“He's pretty tired today, so he opted to take the morning off and get some rest,” explained Ducks head coach Bruce Boudreau.

Getzlaf is good to go Friday despite suffering a deep facial laceration, but the Ducks will be without left-winger Matt Beleskey due to a lower-body injury.
