California's NHL outdoor game, slated for Saturday at Dodger Stadium, got into Ryan Getzlaf's head Tuesday night.

Following a 3-2 loss to the 23-23-5 Winnipeg Jets, the Anaheim Ducks star admitted the event has become a hassle of sorts.

"There's a lot of distractions with this outdoor game, everyone's been talking about it for two weeks," Getzlaf told the L.A. Times, "it's hard to focus on the two points at hand."

"When you have distractions, you have to play through them," he added.

The Ducks, the NHL's top team with 79 points, had its 22-game home regulation unbeaten streak snapped by the Jets. Previously, they hadn't suffered a regulation home loss all season.

Anaheim will meet the Los Angeles Kings in the second of six outdoor NHL games this season.

The Toronto Maple Leafs and Detroit Red Wings played on New Year’s Day at Michigan Stadium.

Considering its novelty – playing an ice hockey game in the same place palm trees grow – the Ducks-Kings game has garnered considerable attention.
