ANAHEIM -- The Anaheim Ducks placed goaltender Jonas Hiller on injured reserve Wednesday, after his third straight bout with fatigue and light-headedness in less than two weeks.

Hiller told the club he experienced another instance of the mysterious ailment after practice on Tuesday and left the ice early. He had been placed on IR twice last week, both times retroactive to February 3 with the same issue.

The native of Switzerland has gone 26-16-3 with a 2.50 goals-against average and five shutouts this season.

To fill the roster spot, Anaheim once again recalled goaltender Timo Pielmeier from Elmira of the ECHL.

Curtis McElhinney is expected to be in net later Wednesday when the Ducks welcome the Washington Capitals to Honda Center.
