Anaheim, CA - The Anaheim Ducks brought in defenseman Andreas Lilja with a one-year deal on Monday. Per club policy, financial terms of the deal were not released.

The 35-year-old played just 20 games for the Red Wings last season, posting a goal and two points with a minus-two rating. He left the club as an unrestricted free agent.

Lilja had been troubled by his battle with post-concussion syndrome, after a fight in the 2008-09 season left him with the troublesome condition.

Over 478 NHL contests with the Kings, Panthers and Red Wings, the native of Sweden has racked up 15 goals, 74 points and 501 penalty minutes.

The move was necessary because defenseman Andy Sutton is out indefinitely after suffering a broken thumb in a fight on Friday.
