Ducks fly past ’Nucks

Anaheim Duck Ryan Getzlaf had the last laugh in last night’s 2-1 win over the Vancouver Canucks at General Motors Place.

Getzlaf scored the game-winning goal for the National Hockey League-leading Ducks on a power play at 12:26 of the third period with assists by Scott Niedermayer and Chris Pronger. Getzlaf gave Anaheim its fifth consecutive win over Vancouver.

Canucks were shorthanded because goaltender Roberto Luongo was cited for delay of game when he flipped the puck out of play at 11:37. vAndy McDonald had the Ducks’ other goal at 9:45 of the first from Teemu Selanne and Sean O’Donnell. Canuck rookie Alexander Edler scored his first NHL goal at 8:22 of the third.

Canucks have scored just three goals in their last four games. They host the Colorado Avalanche tomorrow at 7 p.m. (Team 1040/CBC).
