This wasn't the finish Daniel Alfredsson would have scripted.

It has been 295 days since the Senators captain put his legacy with the organization at risk when he chose Motown over Bytown but the memories of that day were stirred up Saturday after what happened in Beantown.

After 17 years with the Senators, the 41-year-old Alfredsson was gone in a flash. Unable to get a deal, he headed for greener pastures with the Detroit Red Wings because he wanted to win a title before retirement.
