If the Tampa Bay Lightning are going to beat the Montreal Canadiens in Game 1 of the Atlantic Division semifinal, they are going to have to do it without their most valuable player.

Goaltender Ben Bishop, a Vezina Trophy contender as the NHL’s top goaltender who is nursing an upper-body injury, did not skate Tuesday and will not play in Game 1 Wednesday.

“Not (Wednesday), for sure. He hasn’t skated since the injury,” a source familiar with the situation told QMI Agency.

Bishop injured his left arm or shoulder when he fell to the ice to catch a puck against the Toronto Maple Leafs a week ago Tuesday.
