There was a lot of brainstorming going on this week by the NHL’s general managers when it came to improving overtime and not having so many game decided by the shootout.

The GMs recognize the popularity of the shootout with fans and broadcasters, but its dependance on the individual over the team rubs many in the NHL the wrong way.
