Colin Wilson can identify with those who’ve been targets of bullying. It happened to him while growing up in Winnipeg.

But the Nashville Predators forward, who takes his anti-bullying message to school kids both in Tennessee and in Manitoba, was taken aback by the story emerging from the NFL this week.

“Obviously it’s a huge issue right now,” Wilson said of the incident involving lineman Richie Incognito of the Miami Dolphins. “There’s a little bit of hazing you hear about in juniors... when it’s taken a little bit too far. But it came as a shock that it’s happening at that level.”

Incognito is suspended while the NFL investigates his threats against teammate Jonathan Martin, who complained and left the team.

And while other teammates defend Incognito amid a chorus of “that stuff happens in locker-rooms all the time,” Wilson, 24, isn’t buying it.
