TORONTO - He could skate, score and inspire teammates through deeds and words.

Heck, Scott Niedermayer impressed people just coming through the door of the dressing room.

"Most of us don't think about how we walk," said New Jersey Devils broadcaster Chico Resch. "But if you watched Scott, even on the street, he had that proper knee bend. Maybe because his mother was a figure skater (and power skating instructor).

"Marty Brodeur or any of the Devils will tell you they noticed the way he walked -- and what a gorgeous skater he was. Then think of him carrying an object on a stick while doing that. That wouldn't slow down Scott, either."
