CALGARY - Sam Reinhart will likely be the most-watched junior hockey player on the planet this season.

The consensus No. 1 pick for next summer's NHL Draft draws hoards of scouts at every rink in which he plays.

But at least he was prepared for the increased attention.

"There's definitely a bigger media spotlight," Reinhart said. "Each year, it slowly progresses and you get keyed on a little bit more by the opposition.

"But I've had brothers go through it before and I've seen and learned a lot from them. So I think I'm ready for it."

The Kootenay Ice star, whose older brothers Max (Calgary Flames) and Griffin (New York Islanders) were drafted in recent years, said it can be difficult to escape the non-stop draft chatter.

"It's definitely there most days," he said. "I think I've been pretty good about keeping it far back in my mind and not think about it too much."
