CALGARY - Sean Monahan can do the math.

Saturday’s late-night acquisition of homegrown centre Joe Colborne leaves the Calgary Flames with a glut of middle men, but the 18-year-old hopeful was saying all the right things after Sunday’s practice at the Saddledome.

“Whenever you get another young player and a good player who works hard and plays the game the right way, it’s exciting,” Monahan said. “I’m happy to have him as part of the Calgary organization.”

Question is, do the Flames have room for both of them this season?
