OTTAWA - A pricey monument to Canadian history’s most famous electroplated silver punch bowl will find a home in Ottawa, the president of the Lord Stanley Memorial Monument Committee announced Monday.
With the hallowed Stanley Cup gleaming next to Paul Kitchen's left shoulder, the hockey historian and longtime monument advocate said it's a project "that really ought to have been done a long time ago."
"The cup is, after all, Canada's most beloved icon and a symbol of our country's passion for the game of hockey."
