There will be no shortage of Canadian content when the National Hockey League down the road “officially” announces its cache of outdoor games for 2013-14.

During a Thursday conference call with the media announcing the league’s approval of realignment, commissioner Gary Bettman was asked about the blueprint for outdoor games for 13-14.

“We are focused on a Winter Classic and another Heritage Game in Canada.” Bettman said.

Read between the lines, and it is quite apparent that at least three Canadian teams will be heading out to compete in the elements next season.
