NHL notes: Chris Pronger's future still uncertain

Chris Pronger’s chances of playing in the NHL again appear slim.

The Philadelphia Flyers defenceman, who hasn’t played since Nov. 19, 2011, has had plenty of time to ponder retirement while trying to recover from a concussion and vision problems. And he seems resigned about the uncertainty of his future.

“Who knows what the end will bring,” the 38-year-old told Sportsnet Wednesday. “It’s a matter of not getting too far ahead. The old cliche, day-to-day – really that’s all I can look at. Every day as building blocks and trying to get a little bit better and really make sure that I’m doing all the things necessary to get back to 100%.”

Are you surprised Don Cherry backed Daniel Alfredsson's comments?
  Yes.
  No.
It's Don Cherry - who knows what he will say.
  Not sure.
