Golden oldies come up big on NHL's opening weekend

So much for the theory this 48-game sprint of an NHL season would belong to the young and energetic.

The 40-somethings are the story of this first NHL weekend.

Teemu Selanne was skating like a guy half his age and brought his career goal-scoring total to 665, but remained two back of Jaromir Jagr, who also scored a pair. They are the all-time active goal-scoring leaders and Jagr is now just one behind former Los Angeles King and Hall of Fame winger Luc Robitaille for 10th place on the all-time list.

Do you think the officiating has been fair in the Kings-Sharks series?
  Yes
  No
No ... but the refs seem to be evening it out themselves
