Readers' choice: Sun Media's mock NHL playoffs
Voters select which teams will advance to the NHL's conference finals

The top four seeds, somewhat shockingly, survived the first round of Sun Media’s mock NHL playoffs to advance to the conference semifinals.

The only Canadian teams to get past the first round were the Vancouver Canucks and the Oilers. The Senators, Leafs and Jets were all victims of the higher seeds as the playoffs got under way.

The closest matchups were between Western Conference foes — the Blackhawks and Blues went down to the wire, as did the Oilers and Red Wings. Just as in real life, the Bruins whipped the Leafs (again) to surge into the conference semis against the Penguins.

The Vancouver Canucks should replace ex-coach Alain Vigneault with...
  Guy Boucher.
  Lindy Ruff.
  Andy Murray.
  Jacques Martin.
  Brent Sutter.
  Don Hay.
  Other.
