They killed almost half the hockey season for this?
If there was any doubt left about this being the most ridiculous work stoppage in labour history, never mind sports history, the tentative deal struck early Sunday morning knocks it out of the rink.
After initially moaning about taking a mere 50% of revenue, the players have wound up exactly there.
And after constructing artificial hills to die upon and blustering about "final offers", the NHL finds itself with almost the identical CBA it could have had at least a month ago.
The last four weeks has been a complete waste of everybody's time, not to mention a cruel hit to the people forced to make do with less at Christmas because rich kids were arguing over the spoils.
Actually, the last three months weren't necessary, because it's obvious all the players and owners needed was a deadline.
Funny how the threat of an entire lost season resulted in all-night bargaining.
