NEW YORK - The NHL and NHL Players’ Association held their own New York Marathon on Saturday in Manhattan that may finally save Hockey Night in Canada this season.
On Day 112 of the NHL lockout, commissioner Gary Bettman and deputy Bill Daly made the three-block walk down Sixth Avenue from the NHL’s headquarters to the union’s hotel, ended up staying the night and were closing in on a deal for a collective bargaining agreement.
“(The two sides are) inching closer (to a deal),” said Daly in an e-mail to QMI Agency at midnight.
