NHL wants teams to have two amnesty buyouts

NEW YORK - There could be some pretty expensive talent looking for work if the NHL has its way in the new collective bargaining agreement. Trying to satisfy a request from some teams to make cap room, the NHL has offered to allow up to two compliance buyouts -- where a player’s salary would not count against the cap -- per team next summer if the league is able to get a deal in place with the NHL Players’ Association for a shortened season. |
