NEW YORK - The NHL and NHL Players' Association couldn't even agree on a time to get back in the same room together for a full bargaining session Thursday.
Twenty-four hours after it looked like there was promise and hope on the horizon for NHL labour peace, the discussions turned sour on Sixth Avenue as the league dug in on key issues that remain to get a new collective bargaining agreement in place.
Instead of staying at the table to try to hammer out a deal, the players and owners didn't have any serious discussions Thursday night, as the deadline to get a CBA in place and save a shortened season looms.
