Locked-out NHLers hit old Maple Leaf Gardens
By MIKE ZEISBERGER, QMI Agency
TORONTO - Memo to Gary Bettman: Here in the spirit of the season, Mr. Commish, how about opening the doors of your lovely home to a number of NHLers who want to play nice and are eager to work out a new deal? According to Maple Leafs forward Joffrey Lupul, any time is a good time. Day or night, holiday or not, these guys promise to be the most polite of visitors if it means coming to an agreement. Or, if it comes to it, to your place of residence. With your permission, of course. “We want to talk every day,” Lupul said Wednesday night after participating in the RBC Play Hockey Charity Challenge in The Building Formerly Known As Maple Leaf Gardens. “If Gary wants us to come to his house, we will. If they want us to talk on Christmas we will. We just want to talk.” |
