The Twitterverse was once again set ablaze Friday afternoon following – you guessed it – more controversial tweets from bored NHLers who are said to be suffering through the league’s ongoing labour strife.
Since September, borderline abusive tweets have poured from players’ fingers, appearing on Twitter and sparking debate among an angry, but increasingly apathetic, fanbase that isn’t afraid to take current and former NHLers to task via social media.
And after Thursday night’s kerfuffle abruptly ended the slew of positive spin coming out of labour negotiations in New York, things went from bad to worse for some locked out players, who continue to lose public support during a battle that no longer seems winnable.
